Government Contractors

It's important for government contractors to understand government compliance and be confident their accounting system is able to effectively handle the requirements before entering into a contract.

How does Synergy help you meet these requirements?

Government Requirements

Through a needs assessment, prototype, implementation, and training, Synergy helps you:

  • Understand Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) requirements. Synergy's consultants are trained by certified federal government instructors.
  • Implement Dynamics SL to meet all the requirements of Standard Form 1408 (the Pre-award Accounting System Survey).
  • Complete a Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) Disclosure Statement if your contract is applicable.
  • Effectively handle all Fixed Price, Time and Material (considered Fixed Price) Cost Reimbursement, or mixed-type contracts.
  • Easily produce Incurred Cost Electronic (ICE) reports, fully follow FAR and CAS, and be prepared for government audits, including the Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA).

System Requirements

Through a needs assessment, prototype, implementation, and training, Synergy helps you:

  • Fully utilize Microsoft Dynamics SL, widely recognized as having comprehensive capabilities for FAR, CAS, and DCAA compliance.
  • Implement and configure Dynamics SL to meet all the requirements of Standard Form 1408 (the Pre-award Accounting System Survey).
  • Implement and configure Dynamics SL to meet modified CAS (four requirements) and full CAS (19 requirements).
  • Set up and employ streamlined procedures* in an integrated system to ensure compliance and tight project management:
    • Estimating - Accurately estimate costs (by contract codes) for labor, equipment, inventory, and subcontractors at the contract, task, and activity level.
    • Bidding - Generate and incorporate requests for quotes and control-bid submissions from outside suppliers.
    • Budgeting - Access historical data and use it for cost estimates.
    • Cost Accounting - Account for direct costs, allocate indirect/overhead costs, charge to multiple contracts and cost pools, have multiple levels of timecard approval, provide an audit trail, report and analyze costs, and much more.
    • Purchasing - Set up a purchasing system that efficiently and effectively accounts for spending government funds.
    • Government Equipment - Create a property control record system to track equipment either furnished by the government or acquired by contractor on behalf of the government.
    • Project Management - Provide budget cost by project, actual costs to date, estimated cost to complete, performance analysis, and much more.
    • Material Management - Set up a system that reasonably forecasts material requirements, ensures costs are based on valid time-phased requirements, maintains a consistent logic for costing material transactions, and more.
    • Government Invoicing - Create a billing system that invoices costs deemed allowable for both Cost Reimbursement and Fixed Price contracts.
