TDA Research Successfully Implements Dynamics SL Using Expertise of Microsoft Dynamics SL Partner Synergy Business Solutions
Synergy helps TDA Research replace Deltek with a new project accounting and financial reporting system to more easily handle government contracts
August 2017— Synergy Business Solutions announced that TDA Research, based in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, completed their implementation of the Microsoft Dynamics SL ERP system. TDA is a privately held Research and Development company that develops new, low cost advanced materials, chemical processes, and life-support components for the military and aerospace markets.
After TDA chose Microsoft Dynamics SL 2015 following an evaluation of several systems, Synergy, a Microsoft Gold ERP partner, completed a Needs Assessment that they used to create a Dynamics SL Prototype. Once the Prototype proved the solution effectively met all of TDA’s requirements, Synergy managed the implementation.
“I’ve been through several implementations and it’s unusual to make ‘go live’ dates,” said Michele Gargaro, Controller at TDA Research. “Synergy made the difference solving any challenges that arose and getting us live, both on time and within budget of the original scope.”
Gargaro spearheaded the system search for TDA. “Synergy helped us thoroughly compare systems,” she added. “Through deep-dive demonstrations and the prove-before-you-buy Prototype, they showed that Dynamics SL was the right choice for us to meet our specific business requirements, from government compliance to internal reporting.”
“TDA now has a remarkably flexible ERP system that perfectly fits government contractors,” said Stephen Toth, President and Chief System Architect at Synergy Business Solutions. “Its integration of financials with projects and powerful allocation capabilities make it easier to comply with the DCAA, whether it’s a pre-award or mid-contract audit, managing indirect rates, or ongoing incurred cost submission reports.”
Microsoft continues to develop Dynamics SL, its lead ERP solution for handling government compliance. It can be hosted in the cloud or deployed on premise. New Dynamics SL technology is released every six months and the next major upgrade will be in 2018.
About TDA Research
TDA Research, a government contractor based in Wheat Ridge, CO near Denver, was formed by two staff from the Solar Energy Research Institute (now the National Renewable Energy Laboratory). TDA has grown to a staff of 80 with two facilities encompassing a total area of 50,000 square feet. It is a privately held Research and Development company which develops new low cost, advanced materials (polymers and carbons), including catalytic- and sorbent-based materials and processes and military and aerospace components. These materials in turn often form the basis for new and unique chemical processes, or protect users from chemical hazards. TDA brings their materials to market either by forming internal business units, or, in partnership with larger Global 2000 manufacturing companies. For more information, visit: www.tda.com.
